Julie Weideli is a Swiss and French Stage Designer based in Berlin, Germany.
She obtained her Diploma in Interior Architecture and Scenography at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland Basel. In Berlin she has been working as a project-architect for exhibition designs for Gerhards & Glücker and as a production assistant for various art projects in public space for RaumlaborBerlin. As a long standing artistic contributor to the stage and costume designer Christof Hetzer, she has been working among others for „Il Turco in Italia“ at the Het Muziektheater Amsterdam, „Das Mädchen mit den Schwefelhölzer“ at the Deutschen Oper Berlin, „Die Zauberflöte“ at the Vlaamse Opera Antwerpen and „Pique Dame“ at the Theater Basel.
In 2015 she designed the set for the sucessfull productions of “Caligula” at Theater Regensburg and “Der Boxer” at Schlosstheater Celle. Pursuing her collaboration with the director Charlotte Koppenhöfer, she created the stage and costume design for “Hedda Gabler” at Schauspielhaus Salzburg in 2016 followed by “Hiob” at Schlosstheater Celle, “Bilder von uns” at Theater Regensburg in the spring of 2017 and continuing in fall with “Dorian Gray” and “Nineteen Eighty-Four” at Schauspielhaus Salzburg and “Nord West 59” at Theater Regensburg.
Her artistic work comprises among others the scenography for the installations “Low Density” and “Der leere Spiegel” co-elaborated with Bernd Purkrabek.
